It can purify air. The Mother in Law’s Tongue plant is the master of formaldehyde absorption. A pot of it can absorb half the formaldehyde in a 10 square meter room in just 6 hours. It also absorbs computer radiation and releases oxygen at night. It represents tenacity and resolution. Sansevieria trifasciata is native to tropical West Africa forming dense stands, spreading by way of its creeping rhizome. Its stiff leaves grow vertically from a basal rosette. Mature leaves are dark green with light gray-green cross-banding and usually range between 70–90 cm long and 5–6 cm wide.
